IB(International Baccalaureate)는 비영리 교육재단 IBO(International Baccalaureate Organization)에서 개발하여 운영하는 국제인증 학교교육 프로그램으로 개념 이해 및 탐구 활동을 통한 학습자의 자기주도적 성장을 추구함. 초등학교 프로그램(PYP), 중학교 프로그램(MYP), 고등학교 디플로마 프로그램(DP), 직업연계 프로그램(CP)으로 구성됨.

IB의 목표는 서로 다른 문화를 이해하고 존중하며, 더 나은 평화로운 세상을 실현하는데 기여할 수 있는, 지식이 풍부하고 탐구심과 배려심이 많은 청소년을 기르는 것입니다. 이를 위해 본 기관은 학교, 정부 및 국제기구와 협력하여 국제적 수준의 교육과 엄격한 평가 시스템을 갖춘 도전적인 교육 프로그램을 개발하고 있습니다. IB 프로그램은 전 세계 학생들이 적극적이고 공감할 줄 알며, 서로 다름을 이해하고 존중하는 평생 학습자가 될 것을 장려합니다.

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelogn learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
